Metastorm 7.6 installation fails due to IDriver.exe error


The installation aborts after starting "setup.exe". In the install log the line "1: GetInstallDriver, Can not find InstallDriver in ROT table, Return Code = 0x80004005" can be found which points to an InstallShield file.


  1. Stop any installations and reboot the machine. This step is necessary because the BPM installation may have crashed and may still be holding system resources.
  2. Go to c:\program files (x86)\common files, and rename or remove the InstallShield folder.
  3. Retry the BPM installation, using "setup.exe" and running as administrator.
